Summary (for all the times I didn't post)

What a year it has been! So many good and wonderful things have happened. Definitely not the way I expected things to go, but it has been an amazingly good journey. 2016 is passed and 2017 is upon us. Let me take the time to sum up how my 2016 went.

 New Years!
(January)

For 2016 we celebrated the New year by have a full on fondue party. The fondue was amazing and the whole family was excited for the new year.

First smooth competition
(February)

In February, Cesar and I competed smooth for the very first time. We took second place and had a whole lot of fun.

Nationals Happened!
(March)

Kyla and Joe became the national amateur smooth champions, showing me that nothing is impossible you just have to believe. Lyvia and Ryan danced beautifully and I had a wonderful experience dancing with Cesar.

 Parents trip to Florida
(Also March)

Mom and Dad took a week long trip to Florida. It was a long week to watch the kids, but we were kind of repaying them for all they did for us at nationals.

We moved again
(April)

In April the family moved to Lehi.  It was a hard move, meaning physically hard not mentally, but it put us closer to dance, which made everyone happy.

We attended a BYU Volleyball game
(April)

We had the privilege of going to a BYU volleyball game as a family. It was super fun and entertaining. If your wondering where Kyla was, she was going to prom. :)

New Partner
(April)

What an amazing opportunity! After losing my partner in March I was so fortunate to find an wonderful new dance partner. His name is Braden and he is awesome. We have loved dancing together.

We all preformed in a showcase
(May)

We were all able to preform in a showcase for our studio. It was lots of work, but it was all worth it. It was practically the Zenger show because all 6 Zenger's were in it.

Movie
(May)

We went and saw the Jungle Book as a family. It was a pretty good movie that was fun to go see. It was even better though to spend time with family.

 BYU tour team showcase
(May)

We kept the tradition of the girls always going to see the BYU tour team showcase. It was a good show with good dancing, but nothing can beat a good time with the girls.

Unexpected Trip to Vegas
 (May)

So my family has this tradition of always going to Vegas for a week in the summer to spend time with cousins and what not, but this year I wasn't going to go because I really wanted to stay and dance, However my dad convinced me somehow that a break would be good for my dancing, so the day before I packed and went to Vegas for a week.

Rodeo Time
(June)

As a family we kept our yearly tradition of attending the Lehi Round up Rodeo. It was so fun, probably one of the best moments of 2016.

Family Hike
(June)

My family and I took a hike which was really fun because I was with family, out in nature, and getting exercise.

Workout week
(June)

Though this week was hell, I would not take any of it back. I loved all of it. It improved my dancing, my mind, my stamina, and my love for dancing.

4th of July
(July)

We were able to attend the Thanksgiving firework show for the 4th of July. The fireworks were big and bright and I was very grateful for my wonderful family and country.

EFY!!
(July)

EFY! That is all I can say because words cannot sum up how amazing EFY was. It was a life change experience that I will never forget. The people were amazing and the atmosphere was unforgettable!

BYU Summer competition
(August)

Though I didn't compete I was able to watch these cuties rock the dance floor. Made me so grateful for the sport that I do.

NV Ball
(August)

This was Braden and I's first competition as partners. I was so good to be out on the floor and I was truly grateful for the wonderful opportunity to dance.

Photoshoot
(September)

I had the opportunity to participate in a photo shoot for my studio. I have never done a photo shoot before, but afterwards I was actually considering being a model. :)

Autumn Dance Classic
(October)

I had the most amazing opportunity to go and compete down in San Fransisco. It was the most amazing experience that I will forever cherish. I had a wonderful time dancing and touring.

My Birthday
(October)

I turned 16! Yeah! I turned 16, got my license, and had an amazing day. I am so blessed to have been born into such an amazing family.

Orem Competition
 (October)

This was an awesome competition. We did very well mentally and physically. We got 3 firsts and 1 second. But most importantly, we danced well.

Halloween
(October)

Since we are not super big into trick-or-treating, my family and I went out to a super nice restaurant, went bowling, and played some really fun arcade games. I had a fun night and realized that I am just awful at bowling.

Another showcase
(November)

We were able to participate in another showcase full of fun and enjoyment. We did a nerd number which was really silly but also very fun.

Thanksgiving
(November)

Thanksgiving was a blast. Instead of having to cook everything and clean up everything we went to a big buffet instead. It was very good and made me realize how grateful I am for everything.

BYU Christmas Concert
(December)

This was my first Christmas concert on the BYU Youth A team. It was an amazing experience full of fun and great dancing

Eclipse Concert
(December)

Our tradition is to go and see Eclipse in Concert every December! I absolutely love this show and had a great time being with my family.

Holiday Dance Classic
(December)

Another awesome competition. I love competing out of state, I love dancing, and I love my family very much.

Christmas Eve
(December)

For Christmas Eve we went and saw the movie "Sing". It was a cute movie that taught me to chase your dreams no matter what.

Well, that's a wrap. 2016 was a very challenging yet very fun year. I had so many amazing experiences that taught me great things! Good bye 2016, hello 2017!!!!!

Life update

Life Update

I think it is time for a life update, considering my last post was 3 months ago. The statement, "Time does fly when your having fun" has not been more true.  It seems like it was just a couple days ago when I was writing down goals for 2016. Many things have happened these last few months and lots of lessons have been learned. Life his hard, but worth every second.

Nationals 2016
For the Zenger family, Nationals has always been a big deal. This dance competition, held in the BYU Marriott Center, is the biggest competition of the year. It lasts for an entire week. All of our practice and goals go towards this competition.

Kyla did it! She won her title. She is currently the reigning national amateur smooth champion.  After a disappointing year of placing second in youth smooth, she was out to prove that hard things can be accomplished. Thursday night of nationals she brought it all to the floor. She danced with passion and soul and because of her hard work, mental capacity, and love for dancing she won the title. She believed in her self and I am so proud and look up to her.

Lyiva and Ryan did very well for their first year of open. Lyvia has come along way and though this was their last competition together they danced beautifully.

MaCade was awesome! I have been mentoring him and his partner Nikki and they have improved so much over the last year. Though they did not make the finals, their dancing was so much better than it was a year ago.

This was Aiden's first nationals. He is dancing with our second cousin Izzy. They were adorable!

My nationals was definitely an interesting one. I lost my dance partner last November and had to take a couple weeks off to try and find a new one. I was privileged to find a partner, who's name is Cesar. He didn't dance standard so we decided just to do Latin and Smooth. We only had 3 months until Nationals and 3 months is not a lot of time. We did very well at nationals in smooth, placing 5th in Pre-champ smooth.  Latin was not as fortunate. We had recently won at a competition early that month and then we competed at nationals and didn't even make it to the quarterfinals. It was the biggest slap in the face I have every had. One thing I did learn from my experience is that "skill beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard." From now on, when ever I don't feel like practicing I will remember this moment and practice even if I am tired.  Besides a disappointing result, this 2016 nationals was a success. I cannot wait for 2017, when I can show everyone that hard work and belief pays off.

We moved, again

This happened a couple months ago, but it was a big change so I might as well talk about it. We moved around the end of December to a new house in Lehi. It was a long process, but we made it and the house is working out well. The house has really high ceilings so everything echos and our school room is very tiny, but the backyard is big and we don't have neighbors practically sitting on top of our house.

My freshman year of high school is completed

For three years now I have been attending a online high school called Williamsburg Academy. I have gone to their middle school for two years and have absolutely loved it. This was my first year of high school and I utterly love this school. I finished my freshman year as the debate champion of my whole class, with a 4.0 grade, and lasting friendships.  This school is an amazing school filled with amazing learning opportunities. I cannot wait for my sophomore year!

Dane Majic had their second senior showcase

I had the rare opportunity this final senior showcase to dance with one of the senior boys because his partner wasn't able to do it.  It was an awesome opportunity and I had a blast doing it.

Team Tryouts were a couple weeks ago.

This year was probably the most stressful tryouts I have ever done. It was my first year trying out for youth team. It went quite well because I made both A teams. I am excited to be on the team!

Prove competition!

Last Saturday I had the opportunity to compete at the Provo Dance festival with my new partner Ceasr. We had been partners for 4 weeks and this was our first competition.  We won Youth Pre-champ and placed 4th in Youth Latin.  I was very proud!  We love what we do and cannot wait for the future.

December

December! One of the most cherished and loved months of the year.  My December was wonderful. We started the month off with the annual BYU Christmas concert.  Sadly this year I was not in it because I decided not to do team, but it was fun to watch it from an audience members view.  The show was great.  Kyla, Lyvia, and MaCade all danced great!

We also went to see "Eclipse 6," our favorite A Capella group.  We have been going to their concert a couple of years now and we love every bit of it.  The music is great and it is fun to be with family.

The day before Christmas Eve we went to see the new Star Wars and let me tell ya, it was awesome!!!!    I am actually a fan of Star Wars now. :)

After the movie we went to Leatherbys.  It is an ice cream place whose portions are... we can say not small.   It was fun to talk and be with family.
